Tide pools

Jack chose to not be in this picture!

Devin the kids and I decided we needed an adventure. So when the kids got out of school one day we drove down to the tidepools in New Port beach. It turned out to be quite and adventure indeed!
We walked down a long trail to the beach and started climbing rocks to see the tidepools. We climbed and hiked and looked at tidepools for about a mile.( While holding a three year old and 12 month old!) When we got to open beach we decided to walk up to PCH and walk back to our car that way rather then hiking and climbing our way back.
So we walk up another long trail to the street only to find a locked gate at the top of the trail. Apparently the rich people that live on the top of the cliffs think that they own the beach and you need a key to get in or out of the beach. No big deal right?
Devin and Owen walked down the beach a little ways to find another way out. No other way was found. By now the tide is coming in and we are all tired. I found another trail to the road so we started up that way only to find another locked gate. I was starting to think that we were going to have to spend the night on the beach. We were finally rescued by two kids that came up behind us and opened that gate.
VICTORY!, NOT! We were not on PCH like we thought, but we were in a maze of very nice homes. We had no idea how to get to the highway and you probably guessed, all the gates to get back to the beack were locked. To make a long story short, a very nice lady gave Devin and Jack a ride to our car and they came back and got us. What an adventure!

I know, I know I am way behind on blogging, but better late then never right? So Ava and Devin had their birthday on April 2nd (cause that was the day they were born!) We celebrated by going to Disneyland. Then that Sat. we had a birthday party. It was a lot of fun! Poor Devin was sick the whole time, but he was a trooper! Happy birthday Devin and Ava!!!

Ava's new crib

Ava is starting to get a little to tall for her cradle. So Grammy and Papa Casey bought her a new crib.
The first nap in the crib she insisted on sleeping sideways. I guess she is used to sleeping in small spaces.

But I think she is starting to like it!

DISNEYLAND!!!!!

After the tramatic raft ride. See the bottom picture for the explanation.
This is us when we first got there. Devin is the person with no head in the background.

Neenee and Jack decided to go on the cute little spinning lady bugs. Since the teacups are his favorite ride I thought this one would be no big deal. My thinking changed when less then half way through the ride Jack turned a curious shade of green! Whitney yelled to the lady and she stopped the ride and let them off.

Jack then laid in the stroller for awhile until he felt better.

Ethan holding Emma on the SLOWEST ride in the park.

This is not a proud moment for me. I was trying to help Ethan get over his fear of rides and talked him into going on the wild raft ride. I didn't know that there were drops and dark tunnels! See the top picture for the after effects of this ride.
We got Disneyland passes for Christmas this year and have been going about once a week. It is a blast and the kids are getting much braver!! Sorry the pictures are out of order, this stupid blogger drives me nuts!!!

I'm BAAAAAACK!!!

So i've been MIA, but I have great news!!! I got new camera, so you will get to see way more pictures of my kids then you ever wanted to see!! So let's start with Christmas, since my Christmas pictures are on my old camera you'll have to settle for the after Christmas chaos! I'm sorry the pictures are above the text, but this blog is not cooperating and it's making me crazy. But as you can see from the pictures the kids had a great Christmas. Santa came and brought everybody what they wanted. He even stayed up until 11:30 putting together Ethan's legos. I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!!

Free Pictures!

Emma and Ava (in that order)

Whitney, Jack, Ava, Emma, and I were killing time at Babies R Us the other day when a guy from the portrait studio asked us if he could practice taking pictures using our babies as models. He said we'd get a free picture. We only got one free picture so it will live a week at my house and then a week at Whitney's house and on and on until we get sick of it. But you can look at BOTH pictures right here on my blog....for FREE! You're welcome!

Kids say the darndest things....

We have a little old lady that lives in our complex and absolutely LOVES Jack. She has always called him her baby. She is a little "off" but we have learned to love her. Well, today Jack and I were walking to the car and he insisted on bringing his comforter with him. If you know Jack you know why I didn't object. The only problem was it was dragging on the floor. So above mentioned old lady came over to help him. Speaking lovingly to him (in cuban) the whole time. We make our way to the car and after she walks away Jack looks at me and says.."My Grandma is crazy!" I cracked up and he says.. "mom it's not funny, shut the door my Grandma is crazy!" I don't think I have ever told him that she is not his grandma, I guess I should have!

Another funny thing that was said recently was last night. Ethan asked me who won the election and I told him Barack Obama. He got the saddest look on his face and said, "Oh poor Tim Shaw!" haha I spent the next hour explaining the different branches of government.
