Day 5, our last day with Emma :(

Today was the boys Halloween parade at school. These three were the cutest audience members
I was so surprised to see Jack leading the parade!
The girls were having a tough time listening, so I had to break out the double stroller. It helped
This scary creature is Owen. I couldn't get his attention as he flew by!
This is Ethan and his best friend Abby.
I absolutely love everything to do with Halloween especially the parade at school. They balst Halloween music and all the kids look so cute in their costumes. It's such a fun day!

Day 4

I realized that all the pictures i've been posting of Emma have been sleeping or waking up pictures, so this post will shake things up a bit. Last night we ordered some chinese food and carved pumpkins!!!
Everyone hates scooping up the guts, but me. I love putting my hands in the pumpkins and i love the way they smell. But they kids were good sports and did a good job scooping.
This was the first year that we let Ethan and Owen carve their own pumpkins and they did a great job.

Day 3

I woke up this morning curled up at the foot of my bed much like a cat. These three were resting comfortably at the head of my bed and Devin was sound asleep in Ava's room. I remember at one point during the night Owen waking up with a bad dream, but there was no room in my bed, so i slept on the edge of his bed until he was in a deep sleep. For some reason i'm not tired at all. I think I do better on little sleep.

Day 2 (morning)

The girls did so good last night. Emma woke up so happy at 6:30 which is perfect because I have to get up around then to get the boys ready for school. After we got Ethan and Owen off to school ( which was a chore because I had to lug around the double stroller!) we went to mocasalsa and got Emma's favorite breakfast burritos. Now it's time to get the girls dressed and then take Jack to school, the off to visit Nana. I figure the busier we are, the faster the time will go and the less time Emma will have to be sad.

Day one with Emma

Whitney and Kelly left on their crusie today. So that means that for the next 4 days I have two two year olds. YAY! Actually today wasn't half as bad as I thought it would be. They fought and threw fits, but not as much as they played and sang and laughed. Bedtime was a little hard, but when I went in to check on them this is how I found them. We'll see how the night goes. Wish me luck!

Church Halloween Party

The boys in their costumes and Ava in the back ground not wanting to wear a costume.
I couldn't get Ava to pose, but this is the other pillowcase dress I made.
Eating chili, nachos, hotdogs, and rootbeer.
Jack in the jumphouse
Ava enjoying her sucker on the way home.

Pillowcase dresses

This is one of the pillowcase dresses I made for Ava. I made another one for her and Emma so it didn't seem right to post a picture of just Ava in her dress and I didn't get one of the girls together yet. These dresses are so easy to make and they come out sooo cute.

I love Sunday Mornings

Apple cinnamon pancakes (Williams Sonoma's recipe)
Turkey bacon
Pumpkin Syrup from our trip to the apple orchards
Happy boys!

The reason Ava isn't in this picture is because she slept in until 10:00. Don't worry we saved her some and she loved it just as much as the boys did.

Jack in the box

The next BIG thing

Ethan and his best friend Abbie created a comic book character namesd, Marshie. He's a marshmallow that is like a super hero. Last Sunday night Ethan made a couple of Marshie dolls that he took to school with him the next day to show his friends
They were a hit! This is an order form of some of the kids that wanted some

So he took this bag with him to school today and came back with $1.75. He's selling them for a quarter a piece. Didn't Mickey Mouse start out htis way?

Fire station tour

The kids and I were out running errands and we passed the fire station and noticed they were having an open house. I, I mean, the kids were so excited. They got goody bags full of cool stuff, got a tour, and free cookies!!!

Johnny Appleseed Day

Jack and his kindergarten class eating apple muffins, apple smiles and drinking apple juice
Jack in the circle dancing to pioneer songs.
Painting a bag using apples as stencils
Ava and Milania watching the activities.

Every year the kindergarten through second grade at the boys school celebrates Johnny Appleseed day. It is such a fun tradition and this year was finally Jack's turn to participate. This is actually Jack's 6th year attending this event. He was only 5 months old the first time he went, but this year he is a student there so he didn't have to just watch. He was so excited!

New addiction

The other day I went to Goodwill to look for halloween ideas. Which at goodwill right now are all total rip offs, but while in there I stumbled across this little beauty. Now at the time it was filthy, but it was sturdy and did I mention it was only $9.99!!!! I took it home, scrubbed it and added a little fabric and I am in love with it. There are dings on it, but honestly in this house there would have been some in no time. Getting such a deal was a rush and now i'm addicited.
SO today I found these little spice racks They are cute, but I didn't need spice racks
With a little paint they are now toy racks. One for Ava and one for Ethan. Now I just need to find two more. I guess i'll have to go back tomorrow :)

It's another wonderful, rainy day!

I am loving all this rainy, cold weather. It's crazy to think that just last week we had record breaking heatwaves and now it's cold. It's a perfect day to cuddle in bed and that's just what Ava and Jack are doing right now. To bad I have to take Jack to school in a couple of minutes. I guess we'll resume cuddling when he gets home today.

Apple Orchards

We take the kids to the apple orchards every october. It's fun to have traditions to look forward to. The kids used to be terrified of the goats in the petting zoo, but as they get bigger, they get braver.
The fresh apple cider is sooo good. This year we got regular cider and we discovered raspberry apple cider, it was sooo good. Made from the fruit right there on the farm, the store bought kind never tastes good enough after you've tried the fresh kind.
Can you see the four cute faces peeking out of the log cabin?
They love to play on this old wagon and pretend to be pioneers. They played here for about an hour.
Owen climbed to the top of the log cabin and I snapped a picture right before the lady asked him to get down.
Sassy was so impressed with this tiny apple tree.
This is the spot I take all my christmas card pictures, so don't be surprised if you get this picture in the mail in December
Jack was keeping an eye on those crazy goats, but still smiled for the camera
This is one of my favorite traditions, it was rather hot this year, but we still had fun

Hawaiin Day!

Is it Hawaiin day at your school today? IT IS AT OURS!!!
Some people weren't awake enough to celebrate.

It's also pouring rain and thundering!! It's an answer to my prayers because I couldn't take one more day of that awful heat!!!
