Tide pools
Jack chose to not be in this picture!
Devin the kids and I decided we needed an adventure. So when the kids got out of school one day we drove down to the tidepools in New Port beach. It turned out to be quite and adventure indeed!
We walked down a long trail to the beach and started climbing rocks to see the tidepools. We climbed and hiked and looked at tidepools for about a mile.( While holding a three year old and 12 month old!) When we got to open beach we decided to walk up to PCH and walk back to our car that way rather then hiking and climbing our way back.
So we walk up another long trail to the street only to find a locked gate at the top of the trail. Apparently the rich people that live on the top of the cliffs think that they own the beach and you need a key to get in or out of the beach. No big deal right?
Devin and Owen walked down the beach a little ways to find another way out. No other way was found. By now the tide is coming in and we are all tired. I found another trail to the road so we started up that way only to find another locked gate. I was starting to think that we were going to have to spend the night on the beach. We were finally rescued by two kids that came up behind us and opened that gate.
VICTORY!, NOT! We were not on PCH like we thought, but we were in a maze of very nice homes. We had no idea how to get to the highway and you probably guessed, all the gates to get back to the beack were locked. To make a long story short, a very nice lady gave Devin and Jack a ride to our car and they came back and got us. What an adventure!
